We’ve all been on the receiving end of a not-so-great gift. It’s an uncomfortable situation. First, there’s the feigned enthusiasm and gratitude for receiving the gift that we don’t need or want. Then the guilt floods in like a tidal wave of dirty water because we know that whether or not we re-gift, it’s probably going to end up in the landfill, so we place it on a shelf to deal with another day.
If you’re anything like us, the last thing you want is to put someone else in that situation. And that’s where we come in.

We’ve scoured artisan markets, boutiques and online stores for products that make our hearts beat a little faster. Products that not only look beautiful on the outside, but offer something unique and special to the recipient. It took us months of product testing to distill our selection down to only those that offer the all-important ‘wow’ factor.
Nearly all of the products we’ve chosen for our boxes are sourced from small makers throughout the US and Canada. As makers ourselves, we understand the effort and care that goes into each product, and we are thrilled to be able to support that.
In addition to our support of small makers, we also believe in eco-friendly natural products. Our own line of candles, as well as bath and body products are handmade with only the finest ingredients, including top grade essential oils and 100% plant-derived fragrances. Unlike many companies that use the term ‘natural’ to describe products with synthetic fragrances, not a single product in the MWB line contains fragrance that is not truly natural.
MWB Candles
A natural candle that smells good? Is that possible? That’s what we wondered when we began our quest to create soy candles that do not contain synthetic fragrances.
The bath and body industry has myriad options when it comes to natural products, but finding a truly natural candle is nearly impossible. We can’t even count the amount of times we’ve picked up a so called ‘all-natural’ candle only to find that it contains synthetic fragrances. Even though many candle companies claim to use essential oils in their candles, they are not required to disclose whether or not synthetic fragrances were blended with the essential oils.
After spending months experimenting with essential oils and natural plant-derived fragrance oils, we perfected a recipe for a truly natural candle that burns clean and smells amazing.
We exclusively use soy wax made in the USA with American-grown soy. Unlike many candle companies, we do not add paraffin to our candles.
Why do we care so much about using natural fragrances?
First, we have a personal reason; several of our family members are allergic to synthetic fragrances. Over the past two decades, we can count on one hand the times we have been able to burn a candle.
We have also done extensive research on the health effects of synthetic fragrances, and we have chosen to minimize their presence in our household.
Each of our candles is hand poured in small batches in our studio. We have worked with talented graphic designers to create whimsical, one-of-a-kind literary inspired labels that are unlike any others on the market.

Christina has been making cold-processed soap for more than twenty years. Over the years, she’s perfected her formula to create the perfect bar of soap that uses only quality natural ingredients. She does not use synthetic fragrances - only the highest quality essential oils are used. Her soap is perfect for anyone who has sensitive skin, or has allergies to commercial soap.
